The Honourable Adam van Koeverden, Secretary of State (Sport) and Canada's FIFA Sherpa, will meet with key partners in Mexico to strengthen coordination for the FIFA World Cup 26^™.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico, Dec. 12, 2025 /CNW/ - The Honourable Adam van Koeverden, Secretary of State (Sport) and Canada's FIFA Sherpa, will travel to Mexico City and Monterrey, Mexico from December 14 to the 17 to advance collaboration with key partners in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup 26^™. On Monday, he will deliver remarks at the Embassy of Canada to Mexico.

During the visit, the Secretary of State will take part in a series of meetings with World Cup organizing partners and government representatives in Mexico, including his counterpart Gabriela Cuevas, the federal Mexican government's World Cup representative, to discuss preparations for the tournament, including safety and security coordination, fan mobility, and areas of continued cooperation.
