EDMONTON, AB, Aug. 20, 2026 /CNW/ -- Members of the media are invited to attend the public funerals of Nicolae Serban and Ramandeep Kaur Maan, two federal primary workers (correctional officers) from Edmonton Institution for Women who tragically lost their lives on August 6, 2026, while carrying out their duties.

Dates:
A regimental funeral will be held for Nicolae Serban on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
A regimental funeral will be held for Ramandeep Kaur Maan on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Time:
Both ceremonies will begin at 11:00 a.m. (MDT). Media are asked to arrive by 10:00 a.m.
Please note a procession for the regimental funeral will commence at 10:00 a.m., arriving at the Convention Centre by 11:00 a.m.
